Our Story/Vision

Poppy Records is an independent record label founded by the multifaceted artist known as "Moav," whose real name is Charlie. Since the age of 16, Charlie has been navigating the music industry, signing with various record labels while harboring the ambition to establish his own label one day.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated with numerous prominent labels, including, but not limited to, NCS, Bitbird, Gahara, and Sony, which has provided him with invaluable insights and experiences in the industry.

Despite these experiences, Charlie often found himself grappling with the challenge of identifying a label that genuinely embraced a diverse range of pop music within the community. He frequently felt constrained by prevailing trends and the necessity to conform to popular expectations. While he acknowledges the merit in adhering to current trends, he has always longed for a platform that could celebrate and showcase a broader spectrum of musical genres.

This desire for creative freedom and authenticity led Charlie to establish Poppy Records. With a clear vision for the label, he aims to cultivate an environment that prioritizes fair royalty distributions, curates exceptional playlists, fosters a vibrant community of artists and fans, and champions musical diversity.

Although Poppy Records is still in its formative stages, Charlie is dedicated to evolving it into a welcoming home for music lovers and a nurturing space for artists to express their creativity without limitations. Through Poppy Records, he hopes to redefine the landscape of music labels and contribute to a thriving musical community that embraces innovation and originality.
